IT’S BEEN A WHILE!

Depression, sorry, but here’s a big update from me and the farm garden.

ONIONS!

They’re growin all right! Just look at these fuckers!
A photo of a dirt filled box, there are numerous, approximately 40, green plants coming out of the soil, they are all onions.
They need a watering, I think, I will get back out there in a few minutes after writing this up!

POTATOES!

These have some flowers (I’ll allow it) and some concerning leaves…
A photo of another dirt filled box, this time deeper. Coming out of the soil are 15 or so green plants, some of them have little white flowers, most of them have a little case of black spots on the leaves.
These also need a good watering, but I am somewhat happy with them. I thought they might have been more… Bushy. I think that’s how they were described on the seed website.
A close up of one of the plants in the previous photo, this time showing off the small white flowers that are starting to bloom.
These little flowers I should probably remove if I want slightly bigger taters, but I like the flowers, and I am sure the local insects do, too!
A close up of a plant similar to the previous photo, and one of the ones from the photo before that. It’s leaves are showing a lot of brown or black spots where they should just be green.
Now, this is a little bit of a worry. I will have to do some research and see if I can figure something out.

GARLIC!

My joy is mostly here this update. Look at this flying bulb (I forgot the name for ’em) and most of it is harvested now!
An out of focus photo of a bulb growing on the end of a long green stem.
This bulb thingy at the end of the stem is approximately 170cm (5'8") above the ground. It’s really zoomed up there!
A photo of a dirt filled box, smaller this time than the other two. Most of the plants from here have been havested. There are a few plants in there, some are laying down, but four are still growing up.
I have harvested most of the garlic, as I said, but this is what is left in there. Some not very good not quite bulbs, and the ELEPHANT GARLIC! This also needs watering.
A close up of some harvested garlics. The bulbs are mostly white, but some purple ones are in there. They still have their stems and roots on them, and a lot of the roots still have soil entwined.
Let’s go harvested garlic! I forgot the varieties, but here we go!
Another close up of garlic. These ones have more purple in them, but the majority is still white. The stems and roots are still there. The closest one to the camera has a lot of dirt on it.
The purple ones look lovely, eh? And they’re starting to cure already!
A pile of garlics on a black background. There’s approximately twenty bulbs there of varying size. There is a lot of dirt and roots and stems around, too.
This is all that I have harvested so far, now I just gotta find the motivation to cook again.

Anyway, thank you, as always, for the quick read. Love you.
